1758 Flag
The Fort
Bedford Flag (on display in the museum) was donated
to the forces at what was then called Fort Raystown
by the Fourth Duke of Bedford, England. Fort
Raystown was renamed Fort Bedford in honor of the
Duke between November 28th and December 14th, 1758,
after the flag was received. St. George's Cross sets
in the upper left hand corner of a red field. The
Fort Bedford Flag hung in an officer's quarters and
was only brought out on special occasions.
